Burberry is one of the oldest clothing brands in the world, founded in 1856 in Basingstoke, Hampshire England by Thomas Burberry when he was 21 years old. Its garments have dressed the British army for many years and have even been worn by the two most famous Antarctic explorers: Ernest Shackleton and Roald Amundsen (the first man to reach the South Pole).
One of its distinctive features is the “gabardine” (mixed fiber material) and the Burberry Check. Both Elizabeth II and Prince Charles have granted Burberry the Royal Warrant.
Its best-known product is the trench coat.
