Barbour was founded by John Barbour in South Shields, England in 1894.
It uses a special waterproof waxed cotton fabric that makes the jackets perfect for the rainy outdoors, such as the English countryside. Barbour also has a line for bikers, made famous in the 1970s by actor Steve Mc Queen for his pilot activities.
To certify its quality and success, it received the “Royal Warrant” from the Duke of Edinburgh in 1974.
